User Feedback Noted

It's been a while since we launched our invite-only beta, and with over 16,000 users on it to date we've had a fair bit of feedback, from a mix of different types of users.

Some of you just love it, and we love you to. Some people really didn't get what they expected, so we've added more ways to get the TV you are after - links to flash streaming sites, which we'd planned to do a while back got moved up.

More fundamentally, we've got a complete redesign almost complete. Many, many people will be pleased to hear there is bigger type, and the most type heavy areas are black on white now. We tried pushing AJAX pages to the edge which was interesting to try - now we're stepping back a bit to make things faster and easier to use (not to mention bookmarkable).

We tried out an entirely recommendation, tag and search based approach to finding shows but lots of you wanted to browse, by genre and A-Z, so we're putting that in at a fundamental level too.

I'm heading out to the Ukraine for a while to work even closer than usual with our developers and I'm going to report frequently on our progress and plans on this blog over the weeks ahead ... with photos too!

With the pending launch of te site, I would be interested to learn who manages the server and storage infrastructure? Isilon have been successful with Myspace, Facebook and Daily Motion, to name a few providing them with a clear approach to theri storage needs and growth predictions.

Thanks
Dean
